One of the most influential designers of the 20th century, Vladimir Kagan was in a class by himself. After graduating Columbia University where he studied architecture, Kagan worked in his father's woodworking shop gaining the practical skills and formulating the ideas that would define his later work. His furniture design is known for its organic forms and easily recognized by its serpentine curves and cloud-like shapes. The Korduda, designed later in Kagan's career for Holly Hunt, shows the enduring quality and appeal of his work remained strong. Covered in rich forest green velvet with an ebony stained walnut base, this sofa is a work of art in it's own right.
