The artisans at Cristal Arte combine age-old methods with modern technology, to create intricate patterns and designs like the acanthus leaf motif used here. This mirror's design was crafted using a reverse etching process that involves meticulously carving designs onto the back of the glass. The designs are then enhanced with gold leaf and encased by a backing of molten glass that fuses to the front glass once cooled. The result is nothing short of stunning.
